It has been a good week, this one. Started off with a lot of hope, simmered down and Thursday was particularly good. Something that I have been working on for some time finally moved a few steps forward – the media tie-up. Well, a large chunk of it. It is almost a done deal. This is for the print partnerships. Still got tv and radio and internet to go. This should move forward next week. The momentum is picking up and I am getting very excited as is Peter sitting in Colombo doing his bit.
News from Mongolia is good. Permits, support, visas, border crossings, etc tied up. So, India, Nepal, Tibet and China logistics are in place. Now we need to move westwards and look at Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland and Norway. Neither Peter nor me have any contacts there. TJ has some friends in Russia and Finland. But TJ has been very busy over the past couple of weeks to find to even chat. By the way, happy birthday TJ. While America mourns the World Trade Center disaster, you can have a quiet, not too ostentatious birthday.
I am giving it another fortnight for all the media deliverables to come through after which the hunt for sponsors begins. That will be the tough part. But with the deliverables and promotions worked out in detail, life should be slightly easier.
Have a meeting tomorrow. Let’s see how the week ends.
Cheerio.
this is the stove i was talking about, how many do you reckon we might need? 2? 3? i will secure several 30oz fuel bottles, we will prolly only need the same number as the stoves, plus the bases for the stoves. they will come in very handy, on rocky terrain.
oh btw, i have been working on a itunes playlist: “music for a 35,000km road trip” its a mix of rock, in english/spanish/german/russian/french!

Yup, that’s the one. I guess three should do it. As long as it takes the same fuel as the bikes, we are good. Will find out from Thamel too as per the cost and then take a call. Am working on an equipment list. Will share shortly. Cheers
